What is she looking up?

ヴィクトリアンＤＹＢのレンギンのブロックを終わりました。これで他の人の分は全部終えたことになります。今回選んだのはブルーのブロックです。プリントの女性の前の方のスペースに少し余裕を持たせようと思い、ほどいて直したら針目が残ってしまいました。

I finished working on Rengin's block of Victorian Ladies DYB. This is my last job for others. First I made a bit more space in front of the lady in print.

 

 

針目を少しでも隠したいし、プリントを強調したいのでレースのモチーフで囲みました。
Added big lace motifs to empahasize the print.

 

最終的にはこうなりました。

女性はヴィクトリアンというよりはエドワーディアンのドレスで、何かを見上げています。視線の方向に何を置こうかいろいろ考えました。飛行機雲とか。小鳥とか。流れ星とか。

New DYB starting in mid-March

３月半ばに始まるＣＱＩの　”Ｅｎｃｒｕｓｔｅｄ　ＤＹＢ”　のブロックです。

I've joined in "Encrusted DYB" of CQI starting mid-March. Here are six blocks for it. 　

 

 

My Fabric Book for CQJP 2012

昨年一年間、毎月作ったＣＱＪＰのブロックを、ようやく本に仕立てました。別珍やベルベット、コーデュロイなどの布を使ったので、ヴィクトリアンシルクの生成であっさりシームステッチをかけました。
Finally I finished my fabric book of CQJP blocks in 2012.


表表紙です。昔、練習に刺した蝶々のモチーフ刺繍をここで使いました。

教室だより Recent my CQ Classroom

先週、カルトナージュの体験レッスンをしました。生徒さんの中に実はカルトナージュの先生がいらして、みんなで是非にとお願いして、実現したものです。材料と道具を準備してきて丁寧に教えて下さり、みなそれぞれに時間内で可愛いフォトフレームと、タッセルを作り、楽しいひと時を過ごしました。 私の作ったフレームとタッセルです。写真のかわりに、ピッタリのクロスステッチのモチーフを昔、誰かからもらったのがあったのを思い出して入れました。

Last Wednesday, we had a small lesson of Cartonnage from a student in my CQ class, who is learning CQ to use the technique for her Cartonnage works. We made a small photo frame. She also taught us to make a pretty tassel then.

このクロシェ編みのお花は Masumi　さんが先月、新年のお年玉として全員に編んでくれたもの。 そのときもその場にいた全員で編み方を教えてもらいました。そこにあったあり合せの糸で編んだのですが、椿みたいになりました。

　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　

Pin-beading

I was cleaning up my stuffs in drawers and found this kit I bought maybe over twenty years ago. The fabric had a few holes so I made a pincushion using my own similar velveteen. Isn't it a lovely pincushion?

 

 

The technique is pin-beading and it reminded me the heart ornaments I saw in the book of Janet Haigh's "Crazy Patchwork". I was so interested in them when I got a book but didn't try to make one then. I thought it's the chance to try to make one now.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I followed the instruction of the book to make this heart but I thought it's no problem to apply the technique more easily. I made those hearts and ornaments from my UFO naked blocks. They would be for charity bazar in future.

 

 

 

 

 

Lisa's Block

Here's Lisa's block of Victorian Ladies DYB I worked on.

 

As you see the lady is happily walking in snowy woods wearing in pumps. My interpretation is she must have felt some spring air and couldn't stay at home.

 

 

But still she needs boots, doesn't she.

 

 

Snowball Swap with Nicki Lee

We are doing a swap of friendship in CQI. In January I swapped with Nicki Lee. Here's her    beautiful snowball for me.

 

 

 

 She is an excellent dyer of laces. I was so happy to find those extras. Thanks, Nicki Lee!!

 

 

 Her most favorite theme is "Under the Sea" and "Mermaid". So I made this one for her.

 

       I borrowed the scene from H.Andrsen's "Little Mermaid".

遅ればせながら

ブログの方、長いお正月休みになりましたが、その間に海外からいくつかコメントを頂きました。気を取り直して今年も続けてみることにします。

Thank you very much to Ladies from oversea for the comments about 2012 CQJP blocks while I was stopping to blog. They were very encouraging.

昨年のＣＱＪＰの１２枚のブロックですが、布本のページに仕立てカバーにするブロックを接ぎました。

I've already finished each page and pieced the cover for the fabric book.

 

 

 

 

 

一年の終わり一日の終わり End of Year and Day/ December Block for CQJP

ＣＱＪＰ　の最後の１２月のブロックです。一年の最後の月、そして一日の最後の時間です。夜ですから黒の布だけを接いで土台を作りました。黒い布はきれいに写真が撮れなくて残念です。 白く見える糸もほとんど銀糸ですので、本当はもっとキラキラしているのです。

Finally I've finished my last block for CQJP. It's December and last time of day. The block is pieced with only black fabrics. Unfortunately it's difficult to show the actual colors by photo. Silver threads appear like white though they are adding more shining glitters there if you see the block in person.

 

 

 

 

 

クローズアップです。 昔、１２時を指す時計の針とシンデレラのガラスの靴のモチーフを、ラウンドロビンで他の人に刺してあげたことがありました。自分でもかなり気に入っていましたので、今度は自分の作品に使いました。魔法の終わる時間です。

 

I stitched these Cinderella's motifs years ago on someone's RR block. I myself loved them so much I've done on my own block again. Magic is over now.

 

 

 

 

でも凍えそうな冬の夜を過ごした青い鳥はまた新しい希望の 一年を運んで来てくれることでしょう。

But blue birds will bring a new hope when another year and day start!

絵のない絵本 November Block for CQJP

いつも遅れますが、ＣＱＪＰの１１月のブロックです。１１月の夜８時から１０時の時間ですので、かなり暗い色を選びました。

Here's my November block for CQJP. The time is 20:00~22:00 pm.

 

 

お月様のチャームを見つけた瞬間、『絵のない絵本』をテーマにしようと思いました。
I got an inspiration of "What the Moon Saw" by H.C.Anderson from the moon charm.

 

 

もうすぐ１年も１日も閉じることになりますね。
A year and day are ending soon.

 

 

Victorian Ladies DYB/ Connie's block

アメリカのコニーのブロックは扇形で、６枚が最後に円形の作品になるように作られています。最初からどのブロックがどこに位置するか、決まっています。ヴィクトリアンなドレスで装ったレディたちはみな彼女の家族に連なる女性たちです。私が選んだのはこのブロックで、女性の名はエルナです。

I've finished my work on Connie's block of Victorian Ladies DYB. She chose six ancestor ladies　from her family in Victorian era. This lady's name is Erna.

少しクローズアップしたところです。

 

上がジェリーＨ、下がキャシーＫのブロックで私のはその間です。写真ではよくわからないと思いますが、選んである布が豪華で色合わせもヴィクトリアンな感じで、ため息が出るほど素敵です。

Her blocks are so gorgeous and Victorian. I love the fabrics and colors very much. Here's the combination of three blocks by Gerry H, Cathy K and me.

 

CQJP October Block /Autumn Evening

布を接いだのはかなり前なのですがなかなか進まなくて、やっと終わりました。１１月も終わりですが、１０月のブロックです。午後６時から８時頃のイメージです。

Here's my October block for CQJP. The time is evening. I've picked up a few motifs from Brian Haggard's new book "Embroidered Memories".

 

 

１月から９月までのブロックです。月が移り、時刻も真夜中から２時間ずつ進んできました。今年もあと２か月、１日２４時間も閉じることになります。

You can see nine blocks starting from January to September. Now two months of year and four hours of day are left.

 

 

 

モチーフ Motifs/ Step RR

ＣＱＩのステップラウンドロビンのエイミーのブロックです。今回、私はステップ３としてモチーフを足すのが仕事です。 この状態から始めます。

This is Amy's block of Step by Step RR of CQI. I am going to start step 3 work (motif making) from this point.

 

 

 

こんなふうになりました。上の方のブレードと下のシームステッチが左右の端から端まで横切っているのが落ち着かなくて、それを切る方法はないかと、少し工夫しました。

Now done. I tried to cut two long seamlines from left to right end upper and below.

 

 

 

次の人がビーズやチャーム、ボタンを足すことになっていますし、最終的にブロックの持ち主が仕上げをしますから、不備はそのときに修正してくれるでしょう。
