1 Some Safety Measures I Had Done

Finally I've finished clearing up each rooms of my house somehow. For years we had been warned a big quake would happen in this area. Though I am not a nervous person, still I had done something for that; for example to fix furnitures/shelves. Here are some pictures of them.

You can see fitting metals are shifted from the first poit, though it stopped the shelf to fall down.

The screws are come out of wall. But it must have saved six minutes while it was shaked with intensity 6+.

This time shaking was happened in south-north direction. Therefore the things faced east-west were not damaged much.

What a blessing that you had thought ahead and braced the walls. Hideko, we are still thinking of you and praying that everything will work out for your country.

Hideko, you are certainly smart about being prepared. You have inspired me to become more prepared too. We, too, anticipate a Big One someday. You are constantly in my thoughts, my friend. Love and hugs, Cathy

Hope you and your family are still safe and continue to be safe.

I see Patchwork Tsuchin is asking for comfort quilts in conjunction with Quilters Newsletter. I made one CQ block for Hearts and Hands and was going to make a second block but instead I think I will finish some of the quilt tops I have to send off to that project instead. I have a lot of unfinished quilts.
