再生 Rebirth

Yesterday was May 11. It's two months passed since March 11 when the quake happened. When I saw a cross stitch pattern of red peacock on Kathy Shaw's blog, I started my new project themed "Rebirth" after "Moruning Hearts". Thank you very much, Kathy, for sharing it. It inspired me another small project in Japanese colour, red and white.

周囲のブロックを接ぎ、クロスステッチにとりかかったのは早かったのですが、作業が遅々として進みません。正しく震災後の復興の進み方のようです。まだこんな段階ですがちょっとだけお見せしておきます。

Here's the work I've done somehow. Though I started it a month ago, it's very slow, just like the restoration after the disaster.

Hello from the Netherlands,
I am so sorry for all the people in Japan, who have been affected by the terrible earthquake and the disasters following the quake. My heart goes out to all of them.
We are thinking of you very often.

I love your blog, you make the most beautiful CQ I have seen so far. I would like to make some little items in CQ one day, I've never done it. Your work is very inspirational, although I know I could never make something like that. But when I can reach 25% of the beautiful work you do, I'll be more than happy with myself.
I'm following your blog and haven't finished reading and admiring the previous posts.
Thanks you for sharing your work.

Dutch hugs
Dya

It’s beautiful, Hideko. I’m glad you feel ready to begin a needlework project with a happier theme. I enjoy working on my Sendai block, but must get it finished soon! Hugs, Cathy

Blogger seems to have lost my comment, so I'll try again :-)).

Hello from the Netherlands.
I'm so very sorry you have suffered these terrible disasters. My heart and sympathy go to all the people who suffered so much by losing family, friends and/or their homes.

I love your blog and am happy to have found it. I never did CQ but admire it a lot and would like to try one day. Your work is so fantastic and outstanding. If I only manage to do 25 % of the beauty of your work, I'll be very happy.

I still have a lot of reading to do on your blog and of course look at all the pictures.
Wishing you and your family and friends a lot of strength in this difficult time,
Dutch hugs
Dya

cross stitches make you focus for a while on something very special and it helps you "build new ways in your brain"(hopefully). When my mother died I felt so so sad and as a way out I used cross stitching and I felt it was a great help for me.

Wishes you the best
