どちらがいいでしょう?Which is better?

I am going to finish this autumn quilt. I've sewn the border and scattered leaves.

I've found this lace in my drawer.

Isn't it looking cheap?

Which do you think better, with lace or without? I would like to ask for your advice.

IMHO Hideko, the lace is not right for this piece. The whole wallhanging has a feeling of weight and depth, and the lace is to "light" and fluffy around the egde. Something with more body would work, some crocheted edging in an off white, if you want something to edge it, but I think it looks finished without.
Love the leaves you have added.

Hi, If I may say, I don't like the lace around this nice quilt. I rather would do the final binding in an autumn color, so that the colors from the bloks come back to the outside. Just my two cents.
( for what they are worth ;-))
Like Jo said, the leaves are very nice!

Hello Hideko. It's a wonderful quilt. Just to add my two pennies worth, while this particular lace may not be right, I think the pale border really picks out the light patches in the block and makes them brighter.

Hi ladies,

Perhaps I expected these advices. Usually I am a very quick decision maker. When I hesitate something, that must mean it's not good. Thanks for your help.

I don't think the lace looks cheap, but I prefer it without the ruffle look. It seems to be a piece of too much elegance and dignity for ruffles. =)

I agree with the others-the beauty of the design doesn't need the lace to enhance it.

I agree with everyone: it's so nice without the lace! Beautiful leaves.

No Hideko,
not cheap looking, but a combination that doen't "fit".
The lace detracts from the impact of the black border with the autumn leaves.
For myself,I would be inclined to bind the edges with the black that you used in the border.

Hi Hideko,

I don't find it cheap at all. To be caught my attention especially! I love this kind of lace. It looks really feminine and Victorian to me. I would have chosen that too. Really beautiful!
