今年の初めにお見せしたこの写真を憶えていらっしゃるでしょうか？未完成品を少しでも片付けたいという年頭の決意はあまり進んではいませんが、この写真のブロック群を片付けました。

このグループのブロックは実は四枚ありました。

できあがったのはテーブルセンターです。
I have made them up to a table runner.
ステッチだけの作品という意味ではお見せしたサンプラークレージーに通じるものがあります。でもこの四枚のブロックを作ったときはそれなりの目的があったのです。教室を始めるとき何か意味のあることを言わなければいけないかもしれないと思って用意したものです。結論からいえば結局使わなかったのですが、配色とブロックのピーシングの教材として作ったものです。プリントを一枚とそこに使われている色の無地あるいは無地に近い布を５～６種類用意する、ということをレッスンしようと思ったのですが、私の生徒さんたちはわざわざそんなことを言う必要もない素晴らしいカラーセンスの持ち主で、このブロック群にはまったく出番がなかったのでした。
I made these blocks as samples to teach colour coordination when I started my cq class; one print, and fabrics of each solid coloured one in it. I had pieced up these blocks with very clear colours for that purpose more rather than my taste then.

This is a lovely way of teaching the basics of crazy quilting. Your class must be very rewarding to teach.
Great teaching tool, and I like the table runner you made from the blocks. It will make a lovely looking spring table, at the very least. Love that spider web, too!
