When I saw a lovely bag on Ati's blog, I felt like having my own. She was so kind to make an instruction page for us.
普段用に使いたかったので、コットンで色も地味目にしたのに、何故かいつもの癖で、レースやボタンやモチーフをたくさん使ってしまいました。
As I wanted a daily bag, I pieced cottons.
足すたびに気に入らなくなるので仕事はさっぱりはかどらないのに、クレージーキルトは”足し算の手芸”という持論を実践すべく、気を取り直してはさらに足してゆきました。
I felt heavy embellishment was not good this time but couldn't stop working. I deparately continued adding.
なんだか普段使いのバッグにはまったく不向きな感じになってきて、しかもコットンにはこういう装飾は何故かしっくりこないのです。
ほとんどやけになってどうしようか、と思っていたのですが、ともかく仕立てようと思って筒に縫い、全体を見ようといつもお茶を飲むのに使っている、横にあった小さなティーポットにかぶせました。そしたら閃いたのです。
I was very slow because I didn't like my work but finished finally. But when I sew the edges and put over a small teapot I am always using, it inspired me.
というわけでバッグはティーコゼーになりました。やっぱりバッグの場合、コットンならステッチの方を目立たせて重い装飾は控えめに、飾り立てたかったらファンシーでお洒落なシルクやサテンを使った方がいいのかも知れない、というのが今回の反省点でした。アティのバッグには再挑戦です。
Now it has become a tea cosy. I will make another Ati's bag with fancy fabrics next time. Or cotton one should be with more seam stitches and less embellishments.

The idea to put the blocks together in a "swirling" direction gives your bag a special charm.The model and the blocks and the embroderies and embellishments ...so special and so beautiful.

It does make a wonderful tea cozy! How inventive. I should make one. I am always having to reheat my herb tea in the microwave. Don't wince! =)
What a surprise Hideko. I remember the first photo from a while ago when it should became a bag. This is the most "cosy" teapot cosy I have ever seen :))
読み進めていくうちに、私のほうも、辛くなっていたのですが、さすが！！ですね。コットン地なので、これからの季節にぴったりですね。それにしても、英子さんがお使いの画像のコゼーの素敵なこと！！ 『マリー・アントワネット』の映画の影響か、なんとなく、ビクトリアン（ヴィの方がいい？）が流行っているこの頃。まさに、先端を歩んでいる英子さん・・。ちがいない。
（続き）私、見間違えておりました・・。コゼーの画像、両方とも、今回お作りになったもの・・、それぞれ、両面を見せていただいているのよね。まったく、別物・・に見えたものだから・・。そこが、また、クレイジーキルトのおもしろいところなのでしょうね。もしかして、英子さん自身、まったく別物に見える・・・ということに気づいてなかった・・とか・・。コットンで、ビクトリアンの雰囲気を出せた・・。
やっぱり、すごい！！と、思います。
