Ati's DYB Block

私が選んだ飾る前の素のアティのDYB ブロックです。彼女のテーマは「コテージ・ガーデン」です。
This is a naked DYB block of Ati I picked up. her theme is "A Cottage Garden".



こういうふうに飾り、一応終わったつもりだったのですが、何となく自分でも足りない感じがして。
I embellished like this but felt something more needed.



少しですが、足しました。

My gift for Ati

私が作ったアティのための小物です。１０月末に本人に何か希望がある？と聞いたらシザーケースでしたが、それだけではささやかすぎる気がして、ピンキーパーをお揃いで作りました。
Here are my gift for Ati. She requested a scissors case but I've made a pinkeeper together as a set.

このシザーケースの裏にはポケットをつけて、小さな刺繍バサミも入れておけるようにしました。
You can put a small scissors in the pocket of backside.

Ati's Needlebook

昨日、CQAWという小さなグループで今年一年、私のスワップシスターだったノルウェーのアティから、可愛いニードルブックが届きました。手作りのしおりも添えられていました。
Yesterday I received a lovely needlebook from Ati,Norway. She is my swap sister in a small CQ group this year. She has also added a pretty bookmark handmaded.

Tagged and a Reward

My mother was moved to a hospital because of pneumonia two weeks ago. She seems to have overcome it though we have to face another problem now. Anyway I have been very busy visiting her at the hospital many times everyday. I've found I was tagged by Art4Sol and given a special reward by Sharon Chapman while then. Thank you very much, both ladies. I am very honored. Isn't it a big pleasure when I am lost much.

I am expected to tell you seven small things about myself. I'll tell you something about my family.

1, My paternal grandfather was a math teacher. My maternal grandfather was a chemical teacher.
2, My father was a doctor.
3, I have three brothers. I am a second child and only daughter of our parents.
4, My husband is my eldest brother's classmate from high school.
5, We have three children; two sons and a daughter.
6, They are all still single.
7, I am still feeding the second son at home but he'll leave home next April.

I am afraid I have enough time to tag so many people now. Sorry I can't keep tagging.

CQI Christmas Cracker Swap

クリスマス・クラッカーというのは日本ではあまり見ませんが、イギリスなどでは赤や緑の可愛いクリスマスカラーのタータンチェックの紙で包装したものなどが、クリスマス近くになると売られていて、初めて見たときは中に何が入っているのだろうと、思ったものでした。キャンディーやチョコレートなど、ちょっとしたプレゼントを入れて送ります。すぐ開けずクリスマスまで棚に飾っておいたりもします。
というわけで、クレージーキルターの作るクリスマス・クラッカーをご紹介します。CQIの交換会のために三つ作りました。

Here are three Christmas crackers I've made for the CQI swap.



クリスマスカラーでクリスマスらしく作る方がいいのかもしれませんが、受け取るのがみな外国の人たちなので、和風にしました。人それぞれ作り方は違うでしょうが（だから交換して楽しいわけですが）、私はクレージーのブロックを作り、紙筒（ラップや紙タオルの芯などを切って使うのがお勧めです）に飾るのに合いそうなレース、ボタン、ビーズ、糸など一式を詰め、ブロックでくるみました。ブロックの端に止めつけたレースも結んだリボンも、全部材料に使うことを想定して選んであります。
I've wrapped with a cqed block used lots of Japanese kimono fabrics. There are stuff for embellishment I chose inside.



リボンに下がっているのは、先日、平泉の中尊寺に行ったときに買ったお守りです。今はこんな洋風のお洒落なものがあるんだと面白くて買ったのが役に立ちました。
When I drove my mother-in-law and sister-in-law to Chusonji Temple in Hiraizumi recently, I bought a few charms. I used them for these crackers. They are very modern and pretty.



このスワップでは誰が誰に送るかは内緒になっています。中にどんなものが入っているかも内緒です。
クリスマスにみんなで見合って、ワーとかキャーとかいうのも楽しみの一つになっています。
It's a secret until Christmas who I send each and what is included in each cracker.

それぞれのブロックはこういうものです。忙しかったので、今回はミシンで接ぎました。さすがミシンは早いです。
Here are the naked blocks I made.

Build a Seam /week 4,5

ゆっくりと進んでいる毎週の"シーム"です。
第４週。２本のシェヴロンステッチを土台にして、こんな仕上がりに。
Here's a week 4 seam. Chevron stitch is a base.



第５週。平行に少しずらした半円が課題です。
まずこう刺しました。あまり目立たず暗くて、色の選択を間違ったかもしれないと思いつつ、でも最初から解くのもいやで、、、

Week 5. Two semi-circle lines are the base of this week. This green was dark on back. I thought I might have picked up wrong colour but didn't like to redo.



とにかく少し明るく目立つ色をかぶせることにしました。
Anyway I added this bright pink to make it better.



最終的にこういうことになりましたが、実はこの間にはたくさんの試行錯誤がありました。いろんな色の糸でさまざまなステッチを足してみたのですがどれも気にいらなくて、一見とてもつまらない仕上がりになってしまいました。
I tried to add lots of stitches in various colour but didn't like anything I had done. Finally the seam is finished like this, though I can't think it's enough.



ここからもいろいろ試したのですがやっぱりどれもうまくいかず。足したステッチは全部ほどきました。それでももの足りなさは残りますので、材料をひっくり返している間に見つけた、色がぴったりのこのミックスビーズを後で使おうと思います。
I've found these mixed beads from the bottom of my stuff. The colour looks fit. I'll use them later.
